Deploying a Widget

You can deploy a widget in many ways. The method you choose is determined by a few things:

  • the complexity of the widget
  • How it should be rendered
  • How it could be shared
  • Whether or not the FM WebViewer Bridge is part of the widget

You have four options:

Sharing a Widget

Share a widget with others by creating a JSON file. This creates a package that can be used by others who have WidgetStudio.

Embedded WebViewer

This option creates a web viewer object with the embedded code. This works in many circumstances, but it's not the method you'd always use.

Scripted Rendering

This option creates a script for you that will load the entire code into a web viewer object. This option works for many simple and complex objects.

Scripted Export

This option creates a script for you that will export the HTML code from a container field and loads the local url into a web viewer object. This option works for many simple and complex objects.
